You don’t have to be sidelined from the activities you love. Find out how we can help!
Spring is the beginning of many sports seasons, including baseball, softball, tennis, golf, track and field, and soccer. These athletic activities have their fair share of injuries that can hinder your range of motion or your ability to fully enjoy your sport. If an injury keeps you from participating in your favorite spring sport, our team at Denton Sports Chiropractic can help get you back onto the field, court, or fairway.
Offering Many Options to Help You Heal
At DSC, our cutting-edge treatments accelerate the healing of your sports injury. Our chiropractors will evaluate your issue and help determine the best course of action for your health goals. We offer the following therapies:
Chiropractic Care
While chiropractic is often associated with back and neck injuries, it is highly effective for treating sports injuries. In addition to checking your spine, our doctors will use a series of adjustments to check your extremities and work to correct any mobility issues within a joint causing pain and soreness.
Soft Tissue Work
With sports injuries, there are often muscle imbalances or tightness within the soft tissue (muscle, tendon, ligaments, and fascia). Releasing some of this tension will facilitate the adjustment in addition to relieving pain. The soft tissue modalities we use to address athletic injuries include the following:
- Dry needling
- IASTM (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization)
- Myofascial release
- Cupping
PiezoWave2 / MyACT
Many sports teams offer players Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy (MyACT), using the PiezoWave2 machine to help with musculoskeletal injuries. MyACT is sound wave therapy and has been found to be an extremely effective modality with many benefits. It eliminates inflammation, helps improve range of motion by destroying adhesions (or knots in the muscle tissue), and improves blood circulation. MyACT also reduces pain and muscle tightness, and promotes the body’s natural response to heal tissue.
Taping
Kinesio taping refers to the application of a special medical tape to stabilize specific muscle groups or joints. Used by professional athletes all over the world, Kinesio taping can reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation caused by a sports injury.
